学生団体STeLAが主催するSTeLA Leadership Forum 2018が10日間に渡り開催されました。科学技術に興味・関心のある大学生・大学院生を対象としたこのフォーラムで、参加者はMIT Leadership Centerのリーダーシップ理論を学びながら、実践としてグループでのゲームやディスカッションを重ねました。今年のテーマは「スマートシティとIoT」で、世界中から集まった参加者は、最後の3日間、オープンスタジオで日本をスマートシティ化する大きなグループプロジェクトに取り組みました。グループごとに日本の都市の問題点を調査し、プロトタイプと教育ビデオを作成し、発表しました。参加者はこのフォーラムを通して、リーダーシップスキルだけでなく、科学技術に対する知識を深め、世界中から集まった志の高い学生と互いに刺激し合いました。

STeLA Leadership Forum 2018, hosted by the student organization STeLA, was held in the University of Tokyo. The forum is targeting university students (including all bachelor, master’s, PhD students) who have interests in science and technology. Participants took lectures about distributed leadership from the leadership model in MIT Leadership Center, and discussed, played original games, and done activities in groups to apply what they learned. The theme of this year’s forum was “Smart Cities and Internet of Things”. In the last three days, participants tried hard for the group project, which the topic was to make cities in Japan smarter. In groups, they made prototypes and produced educational videos regarding smart city and IoT in Japan.
