International Hackathon Leveraging Dataspaces – Co-hosted with INPACE as part of EU–Japan Digital Week 2026

2026年3月20日・21日、東京大学情報学環オープンスタジオにて、デジタル公共インフラの相互運用性に関する国際ハッカソンが開催されました。本イベントは、EU-Japan Digital Week 2026の一環であり、INPACEと東京大学大学院情報学環越塚研究室の共催により実施されました。EU-Japan Digital Week 2026は、EU-Japan Digital PartnershipおよびG7のDFFT(Data Free Flow with Trust)の推進を目的としています。

本ハッカソンでは、EU、日本、インド太平洋地域から参加したチームに対し、欧州側のGaia-XやNGSI-LDに対応したデータスペース技術と、日本側のCADDE（Connector Architecture for Decentralized Data Exchange）を活用したデータスペース環境が提供されました。 参加チームは、欧州デジタルアイデンティティ（EUDI）フレームワークや日本のデジタルアイデンティティ基盤、MOSIPなどを連携し、マネージドデータスペースのテストベッドを活用して、越境データ連携およびデータ主権に関する複雑な課題解決に取り組みました。最終的に、台湾のBigObject、インドのsmartSense Solutions、日本のNTTデータグループ株式会社に所属するメンバーで構成された3チームが選出され、2026年3月26日に駐日欧州連合（EU）代表部にて成果発表を行いました。

On March 20 and 21, 2026, a hackathon on the interoperability of digital public infrastructure was held at the Hongo Campus of the University of Tokyo. This event was held as part of EU-Japan Digital Week 2026 and co-organized by INPACE and the Koshizuka Laboratory, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo. EU-Japan Digital Week 2026 aims to advance the EU-Japan Digital Partnership and the G7 Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT) framework.

In this hackathon, teams from the EU, Japan, and the Indo-Pacific region were provided with a dataspace environment leveraging European technologies such as Gaia-X and NGSI-LD, along with Japan’s CADDE (Connector Architecture for Decentralized Data Exchange). Participating teams worked on integrating the European Digital Identity (EUDI) framework with Japan’s digital identity infrastructure and systems such as MOSIP, utilizing a managed dataspace testbed to address complex challenges related to cross-border data sharing and data sovereignty. Three teams composed of members from BigObject (Taiwan), smartSense Solutions (India), and NTT DATA Group (Japan) were each selected as outstanding teams and presented their results at the Delegation of the European Union to Japan on March 26, 2026.
